Over the weekend I built a signal tower kit manufactures by POLA. I illuminated the upper floor. I used Woodland Scenics diffusion window film on all the windows and doors eliminating the need to detail the interior. I noticed light seepage through the thinner areas of plastic so I lined the interior with black duct tape. I added a red LED to the roof just because I thought it would add interest. I still need to add Pennsy keystone decals and other decals to the building. Here are pictures in “day” and “night”. At night it appears too dark so I was considering adding a gooseneck lamp to the exterior of the building to illuminate the surrounding area of the tower. Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? (Caveat; The backdrop is the pictures is not my actual layout backdrop)
Looks good. I like that night shot. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
That’s pretty cool!
I would suggest adding the lamp to the exterior over the door/platform. Railroad safety regs would make this mandatory anyway, as access to the tower up the ladder would be considered a danger without illumination.
Maybe a yellow bug light.

Decided to take Andrew’s recommendation. Added a LED light at the top of the landing. Not as bright as I would have liked, but the effect is there;
Looks great just that way.
Good job and nice night picture too! The outdoor light just makes the picture. Because I’m kinda anal about lighting, I might have added a small light UNDER the upstairs landing to illuminate the ground around the bottom of the steps.
