Once I found out that Arnie’s here in Orange County had gotten a private collection, I jammed over and took a look. John and I just acquired about 20 USA and Aristo freight cars for between $20-25 each. The best thing is that they had bearing wheels. And I picked up a Aristo SP Ge U25-B for $80…John scored a BNSF GP-30 for $ 120 and a SD40-2 for $ 150. Everything is in brand new condition. Our higher power was smiling. BTW: two of the box cars I got have steam sound cards…Only thing I missed was 4ft lengths of track for $11 each. Darn. Would have bought every piece! Got there too late. Yesterday they still had about 5-6 USA Diesels for ~ $175 left.
okay I took inventory, wondering what you got and if you want to do any trades…
Already gave you second 70 ton hooper!
Check your email for my inventory.
Nice score. Good thing you jumped on the opportunity. I never thought of Arnies as a LS store, great for O and smaller stuff.
You are right O - HO - N scale mainly. They have been running a “wanted” add on Craig’s List for all scales. I am on their mailing list so when they get it I find out. Need to go immediately from now on the moment I get the email…LOL!
Years ago, Arnies used to carry quite a bit of LGB, but he and his son got priced out of the market. I stopped by Upland Trains today and picked up some track to extend the siding and build the trestle. He took me in the back room where the have some used stuff. You might want to drop them an email to see what type of junker structures they have back there.
Why didn’t you ask when you were there? Besides ain’t got no more room for buildings here unless you keep the zoo animal up there and put stuff on the patio!
