WAY OFF TOPIC: My Son's Band

Howdy music lovers

My oldest son Aaron (30) just sent me a few sample cuts from the self produced album his new band Beaver Avenue is working on. Aaron has been writing music since he was about 17 and has taught himself to play keyboards. His early work was mostly Techno which, although interesting, wasn’t something these old ears could enjoy for long. His new sound is a little bluesy, a little rock-n-roll, and probably three or four other genres put together. I LIKE IT!

Here are a couple of cuts you can download. I’d love to hear your honest feedback. If you think it sucks, or isn’t anything special, please don’t be shy. Of course, I’d like to hear the good feedback too. I’d like to help him turn music into a career, but my analysis of the music comes with parental prejudice, so I’m getting this in front of as many people as I know how to get that feedback.

Jon ,
The music is quite good , I happen to like that kind of "blues " , though it ain’t strictly blues . I think it deserves to succeed , but given the modern "taste " for crap , I have a feeling it will be a niche market job . Good music for the background in a club .

The first song - “Rubidoux” gave me a distinct feeling of the skits done by the Cosby Family on the Bill Cosby Show. And I say that with a great deal of enjoyment. Truely one of the best, and funniest television skits I have ever seen.

The speakers on my confuser did not really do either song justice. But I think they would be very good in live setting. I hope he gets gigs with his music and makes so much money Dad and Mom will have to retire to just be available to attend his concerts and awards ceremonies so they can be pointed out in the audience.

Hey man,

Sounds a bit like the Brit Invasion of the 60s,  not the Beatles or the Stones, all the other guys.
