How was the brick work done> or is it commercial bought?

that is WHOW!

Dennis, Great realism very nice work! Where did you get the Laser cut Shingles? I hand laid hundreds of “real” cedar in G scale… lots of boredom. Laser cut would save a lot of time.

Dan
I made the shingles in 12 inch strips, I made them out of cedar in 3-1/4" strips, I like these so much better,
Thanks for all the compliments.
Dennis

And the brickwork?

David
The brick is a stencil cut on a laser machine that leaves small mortar lines, place the stencil that has adhesive on the back, the wall has been painted to the color of your choice you want the mortar lines. After stencil has been carefully placed then with air brush paint to the wanted color of you brick. I make my brick a little larger than
scale, but I like it that way.
If you look at my link on MLS under buildings you can actually see a stencil and see it on the walls as I paint it, You must remove the stencil no longer than 3-4 hours after it is placed. The product I use has an exterior glue and after 3-4 hours it reall grips the paint, and it can peel the paint and primer off the base product.
Dennis

Thanks!

Holy cow - that is amazing. Your eye for color and detail is superb. The shot above could easily be mistaken for a real structure.

Agreed…

well I have finally got it ready to install into my layout. I wanted to set this structure at the front of my layout. With the 6 teer waterfall,
the structure is fully lighted, inside and out. It has taken me several hours of pondering and doing lots of visulation to figure out how I wanted it to set. I wanted it to be the first thing a person sees when walking up to the layout. It does not actually have a train track at the structure, but I do have loading docks for trucks. My fortay is building structures, it is more satisfying for me to have an oustanding structure set on a mountain top with several small structures supporting the mill with small structures hanging on the cliff sides.
As i am doing the wire work around the river and the structure and the steel bridge, several ideas comes to the mind on placing several different structures. The wire mesh will get all covered with cement. The wooden structures are treated 2x4’s ripped in half, all either screwed together or fastened with steel plates.
