Large Scale Central

Watch this space for

Accucraft Gauge 1, live-steam ‘Royal Hudson’ #2860, as running in revenue service, arriving soon on the VBR [including the Ignatz & Crow Creek Extension].

There is even a passenger car! No doubt there will be more to come eventually, as I move stuff on from my existing collection.

And tomorrow there will be a steam-up at Glendale Junction - the nearest and by far the best large-scale train store in this part of the UK, prolly even ALL the UK! I’ll be running the Accucraft three-cylinder Shay and Garratt.

…and making movies as well, of course, of everything I see.

Best to all

Mornin' all - sorry to say that the day of steaming has been cancelled. The weather here is appalling. Minus 2-5C, sleet and a howling gale set for the entire weekend and into tuesday....gas-fired locos are VERY loathe to operate in such temperatures, as we know.

I might just go - bearing in mind that it’s forty miles each way and gas here still costs $8 a gallon - but right now [it’s ten before seven a.m. here] it is just plain awful.

Zubi - please pass on my best wishes to the guys at the steam-up, especially Tamada-san - if he turns up.

Nabe-san is getting the little Bachmann C-55 for me in the New Year, to spread the financial load, so to speak! Please read your e-mails BTW - I’ve found you some welsh steam coal in texas that’s a LOT cheaper than it is here in UK, where we made it!!!

The D-51 is in bits…and will be for a while, I think. [blibble]

Best wishes to all here

Don't be dzhelus!!!

Buy one!

They’ll never be cheaper than they are right now, and by gosh, they are a handsome beast!

I’m told there may be a few left, and only three were ordered in ‘Royal Train’ blue…

Terry, Thank you! I will. Of course Tamada-san will be there!! He only pretended when he said that he does not really like steam locomotives while still working for Aster…;-)))) Aha! the Bachmann’s C-57!! I saw it today again, very good looking indeed - you will probably have the only one in the UK!! Best wishes, Zubi

Wish I could. I am in selling mode and not buying anything unless funded by sales. I’m happy to have the little Shay and enough gas in stock to run her for a couple of years  Sold enough books to finance a $100 radio for it.

I’ll just have to enjoy watching videos of yours.
