If you have a large inventory and a large production facility you have to keep busy, you might cut prices to increase the number of products sold. The other school of thought is that you are selling less products, so you want to maximize the amount of money being made on each product sold. Would you refuse to buy a locomotive you really wanted because it is $25 higher this year? In Large Scale, I think we will see popular items increase in price. Only items that sell very well will be manufactured. Smaller production runs will mean higher per unit cost. Enjoy the closeout deals while they last. If there is something you just have to have and you don't want to buy used, get it now. I think we have many products available today that may not be manufactured again for several years. Ralph
I have to think Kevin is right--Kader is a big company, Aristo and Bachmann are barely competitors, it's not in Kader's interest to raise prices at a time when consumer spending appears to be down; there are a lot of places in china that can make model trains, and if the Chinese economy is down, why, all the more competition and incentive for the Yankee dollar.
Good to see that “Editor” Chris, is keeping us in line. Now if he could direct a few people on the proper form of "There, Their, They’re, to use and when, then of course we could go on to Your, you’re…but I suppose it’s all a lost cause…!!!

From reading a lot of posts, by many people; it sure looks like a lot of them never learned anything in any school they went to, as far as using the English language.
We all make mistakes as we type away on our keyboards, but some give the impression that they don’t have a clue. It’s funny in observing; that some of them seem to have had careers in resposible positions. I guess they depended on their secretaries to correct their spelling mistakes.
Poor spelling, and never ending sentences, make for boring reading. Spacing between thoughts, seems to make reading much more enjoyable, and will tend to keep the interest of intended readers.
Padre,
I miss-spell, use wrong grammar, and all that crap
ON PURPOSE!!!
If I thought this was a proper and prim forum, I wouldn’t even participate.
Now you and the others like you,

Now, hows that!

It’s missing an apostrophe! That’s how!
Oh, Lord. It’s not bad enough that we fight about politics, now we are fighting about speling! I guess we are like children, we just enjoy squabbling.
Oh, wait, we still play with trains.
Nevermind.

Very good, Victor. Over the guy’s thumb, we can add; your, and you’re…!!!
One thing some people don’t realize is that by caring about their spelling, shows pride in one’s self. It doesn’t pay to “Judge a book by it’s cover”, but the cover does give some small indication of the contents.
By the same token, we shouldn’t judge people by their use of the English language. How they use it does give indications of many things about a person, that they might not care to admit to, but yet they broadcast it every time they write or speak.
A teacher once told me, that we will never make ourselves popular, by pointing out falts in others, but by trying to be educational, and helping others to learn, will never be a wasted effort.
Nowhere have I pointed my finger at any one person in my comments. I have just tried to point out that there are needless mistakes being made by many people, who should know better, or should have open minds towards learning, and improving their communication skills.
After all; the hobby we all like and share, is enriched by all the people we meet on this forum, and others. By making good use of the English language, goes a long way towards having better understanding, through better communication.
Some years ago, when the B’mann Forum was a reasonably decent place to post (until juveniles and Thomas fans took over), an attempt was made by some to upgrade the level of grammar and spelling on the site. Immediately, responents started to maliciously alter their spelling to be smart, or complained about the snobbery and high-handed attitude of those who had an education.
No attempt was made to discriminate against the unfortunate souls who never made it past kindergarten or were asleep during their supposed education years. It was simply trying to instill a little pride in one’s achievements. I regard correct grammar as an indication of one’s pride in both themselves and their life’s achievements.
Unfortunately, my one lament is that I stopped reading, eons ago and, as a consequence, my spelling and my once vast library of instantly available words, to use, has diminished. I still place an emphasis on correct usage of one’s native language. It is not a means of demeaning others, but a reflection of one’s self worth.
I feel that those who are not familar with their language are intimidated by those who are. What irks me are those who are proud of their lack of education and continuously express their disdain at those who try to improve the quality of a forum. There are those who have afflictions that they have no control over and one must be proud of their attempts to communicate on forum sites, irrespective of the attitudes that those who read their postings must feel (until made aware of those afflictions).
