Thanks for the link. And Ken, it WAS in by back yard in Nebraska. I remember the troop trains days on end. These were considered freight movements by the CB&Q and always had a way car on the end. The kitchen cars smelled wonderful as they went by and the GI’s always waved at us kids standing on the embankment watching the trains go by. We were up high and less than 50 feet from the action. Even during Korea they moved the troops and equipment by train. What memories.

The troop trains were a bit before my time, but there was plenty of those GG-1’s passing through Ridley Park on the way to and from Philly and Baltimore.
