Large Scale Central

Wanted: LGB 995001 Parts

Years ago I began a conversion for my eldest daughter. She hasn’t let me forget that her’s isn’t finished yet. It’s an OLD LGB 0-4-0 steam loke and it needs some repair parts for its’ drive rods. Is anyone familiar with a parts source?

I think it’s a 2075 2 piece block if that helps!

thanks

Cale & Caidyn

Cale… Is this the locomotive???

Looks like similar rods to the Stainz although there is some differences… What parts did you need???

That’s it Stan. I’ll try to snag a photo, one of the connecting rods (not sure of correct term) is missing a rivet/screw.

thanks! back soon with a pic!

Dan Pierce would know if Train-li have what you want…Give him a PM

If Stan doesn’t have it, I might. I need more info.

I’ve been up to the barn 3 times this evening and forgot each time to take a pic…will do first thing in the morning!

Thanks Fellas!

There is the problem, it’s missing a pin or rivet or something

previous owner bent a wire over, I’ve had apart and it runs great, put this mess on there and binds like mad

The wheel looks like it has the wrong screw and it protrudes and hits the linkage.

Linkage looks like the same one used on the toy train porters (92377)/

I have had loose rivits give too much play in the rods and they hit the screws on the wheels.

LGB had 2 different thicknesses in these screws and the thin one had to be near the steam chest to eliminate problems.

Hi Cale… I’ll check the “parts dept” later this afternoon to see if there’s one of them critters in a bin and get back with you ASAP…

Could you post and image of the other side as well to show what the correct rivet looks like???

Hi Cale… I’ve checked and checked and I am so sorry to say that I don’t have that part… (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)

It’s much different than the other 0-4-0 rods…

Might Check with these folks… http://www.shourtline.swl4.com/LGB_2075_Steam_Tank_Loco.html

It looks like Train-Li can get the part for you:

http://www.modell-land.de/tenderlok-kleine-dicke-20760lok-corpet-20782079-c-187_248.html

They deal with the German warehouse. Can take a month for them to recieve the parts from Germany.

I have the wheel securing screw[s] if you need them.

Thanks Paul----and others! Looks like I need to contact Train-Li

I appreciate all the help/effort/coaching! I know Mary Caidyn will be happy!

From me it’s the time a letter takes from me to you.

Which is better?

a. Paying and waiting a month?

b. Not paying and waiting a week?

Uh, lemme think…

tac,

I’m also needing a new set of rods, hence thinking the Train-li route may be the best. I do appreciate your generous offer and may take you up on it if I’m unable to obtain the ‘kit’ sold at the link Paul shared.

edit to add:

received whist typing the above to Terry:

Dear Cale:

Good to hear from you. We will get these parts in our next shipment for you.

Nae bother, Jimmy.

Let me know via the forum how you get on, eh? Thing is, I have the most humungously-well supplied LGB dealer about half an hour up the road north from here…

Best
