If anyone has them I’d be willing to pay cash or trade for Accucraft 1:20.3 couplers. (I have 3 pair)
Thanks!

Randy,
Why not buy them from Accucraft. I did.

Accucraft is sold out. So are any hoby shops that I have looked at. I guess Accucraft has a second batch in the works but I have a few things now that could use them.
You are refering to the body mounts provided on 1:32 cars, aren’t you?

Now John, There you go with technical questions. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)My answer, I’m not sure. I guess I thought that they only came one way. Body mounted with a much longer draft gear box. (at least longer than the 1:20.3 ones have) I would like to use them as 3/4 size couplers and retrofit all of my EBT equipment. They would all be body mounted. The immediate need is for my ruby bash where I’m trying to figure size and placement of the front beam.
Randy,
I have a bunch of them for you. I can’t get to them this morning, but when I return home this afternoon, I’ll count them and post a pic to make sure that is what you want.
I got two reefers that had them. Would not stay coupled. I put on Kadees. Used them on the fronts of locos, I never hook to them.
Thanks John, Sounds great. No big rush, I certainly have enough other projects to keep me occupied. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Sorry to hear about your experience Jerry. Were they not staying coupled to each other, or to other size/brands of couplers? Certainly not a problem you want to have on a railroad.
Edit: Here is a picture of the only 1:32 couplers I think Accucraft makes. taken from their site.
Randy,
I’m pretty sure those are the only ones Accucraft make. All my EBT coaches (5) are fitted with them, and I have not had any uncoupling problems. They will even stay coupled to the full-size couplers on my EBT #12 once you manually jam them in the jaws.
I would call around the dealers who may have some. Warrior Run (Clem) often has a large stock. The Train Dept (Jason) may also have some.
Thanks Pete, I’m betting Jerry was mixing coupler types and maybe heights too. I looked at Jason’s site but didn’t see them listed. If John doesn’t have them I’ll try Clem. I’d rather recycle couplers that wouldn’t otherwise get used first. I’m also really looking forward to putting one one the back of my #12. The blank space behind the stock coupler really bugs me.

I have 10 pair.
This is a pic comparing them to a KD 820 if you want to go that route. They are pretty close to the same size.
Are these the ones you have to trade?
Hey John, That’s great! Don’t really care for the kd’s , and yes those are the same that I have for trade. PM sent.
Are the Aristocraft 1/29 same as 1/32. I have not heard of any 1/32. I have a few Aristo’s and will trade for USATrains/Kadee. If you want them let me know.
