The truly sad thing is, I didn’t get the impression he actually gave a rip about tinplate trains. He came off as some sort of obsessive that just did it because he could afford it, and had a weird need to.
Most telling was the part about how he got everything on his list, so he’s selling the entire collection to clear space to collect “something else”…
Kind of pathetic in a way.
