Got to Kamloops good and early for the arrival of VIA #2 at 06:00. The theory and practice discrepancy kicked in right off, no sign of the passenger train and no radio traffic. Hmmmm that is not a good sign.
Well an over-length freight trundled in 40 minutes after #2 scheduled arrival time. Took 16 minutes to clear the yard ladder to let VIA proceed. According to my calculations that means a train length of close to 2.5 miles.
Certainly didn’t want to waste all that memory on the laggard. 
The rest of the trip video will be in 15 minute segments, that should be handy to show the scenic transitions… and a glorious sunrise on day two.
