I can answer the last Question and did in the LSC Operations Forum -

“Timesaver” is a switching puzzle developed by John Allen in the 1960’s. It is based on the length of the sidings related to the freight cars and engine and is played against time or numbers of moves needed to exchange like cars for like cars (box car for box car). It looks like it is a closed subject. At least Ken thinks so. :wink:

So how do I wack that answer into the Wiki? I’m registered, but got lost in cyberspace twice trying to read the instructions (not enough pictures).

Ric,

When you get to the question what is a “Time Saver” you click on the link, that gets you to the empty page, you cut and paste what you wrote regarding the “Time Saver”.

The you do the same with the “Inglenook”

In order to make the URL links work, you proceed as per these instructions.

Good Lord, I clicked on “these instructions” and for a moment, I thought I was reading Greek! Then I settled down and it started to make sense.

There sure is a steep learning curve on this, isn’t there. I think it will be a good thing once we get used to it.

Somebody check it out. I think I got my Wiki Wacked. Yes, it was fun. Didn’t cost as much as I thought and I’ll probably do it again, next time I’m in port. I think it was safe.

As help files and manuals go, the Wiki isn’t that bad.

My mistake was “trying before reading”, there are times when it is RTFM!

Does RTFM mean “Read The Full Manual” of does the F stand for something else? :lol:

It’s open to interpretation:

Today in may mean “Read the fantastic manual”, tomorrow it could be something quite different! :wink:

More leniency when the North Wind blows, less with the stuff from the South! :slight_smile:

While setting up the RhB WIKI I figured it would be a “good thing” to have a test and practise page. Soooo I added one to the LSC Wiki as well, perhaps that will entice some people to add a few more pages to the Wiki! :wink: :slight_smile:

And while I was at it, I added some pertinent stuff to the “Help” page. Hope that helps! :wink: :slight_smile:
