We are getting ready to buy new PCs at work, and I remember all the problems Bruce had with a new PC and Vista. I googled “Vista Sucks” and found a few gems… http://blip.tv/file/340692/
have VISTA on my laptop PC and it works fine! You are not alone in no liking VISTA. My problem has been with Office 2007, they changed! every format and layout of WORD and EXCEL and it is a pain to get it to work.
My office machines all have XP Pro on them and work fine as well. If you find a Good Computer Geik who will build you a machine he can likely install XP for you.

Dell now sells new machines with Vista and a free Downgrade to XP Pro. We don’t want to upgrade Office or any other applications, not in the budget. Many fortune 500’s have said no to Vista for lots of reasons. We still have to run 98 on a few machines to support legacy applications and get into old data :o
I watched the vedio, that is great! It speaks so well of MicroSoft - does that stand for ‘small soft heard’? I have alwaws wondered.
And for to this I sold agood Amiga machine with a working graphic inter face!

My son, who maintains confusers for the Navy, says that the Navy still uses Windows 95.

Gee and I just saw a commercial a couple of weeks ago explaining how wonderful Vista is… Glad I’ve still got XP.
The new Mac commercials are great, and true. MS is spending a boatload of cash on advertising, has stopped using the “V” Word and hasn’t done much to fix a long list of problems.
XP has worked very well for me. I liked 98 too, but too many security holes.

My desktop system is XP and I am very happy with it, stable, friendly. I purchased a Gateway laptop for my genealogy research and hate it. Plus Gateway would not roll me back to XP at the time. My wife got the exact same laptop with XP and it is way faster than the Vista machine.
It is constant little glitches that piss me off. My wife purchased a Microsoft Mouse for Christmas to use with the laptop, certified ready to use with Vista BY MICROSOFT. Every time I start the laptop I have to go into Task manager and stop the I-point process otherwise the screen flickers as I use the mouse…glad i got one that is MS Certified, God knows what would happen if I got an off brand mouse, probably would work fine. Oh, my gmail manager add-on in Firefox will not install in Vista either…
So, next laptop is either Linux or Apple, hope to never purchase a MS product again. Now its Firefox, Open Office, Thunderbird, Gmail, Google Docs, etc.
Vista will have to improve a lot, just to get to the level of “sucks”.
I wish Dell had that program when I got my new computer. I had to go buy a license for XP…but well worth it. Now my applications load 4 times faster than they did in Vista.
Got to love that new Office 2007…let’s change things around, just for the heck of it. What used to be available from one screen, now is unavailable in seven tabs!
My lap top was bought with downgradeable to XP Vista.
Until two weeks ago it would often not start without 3 - 4 attempts via DOS.
2 - 3 weeks ago I installed service pack three and to date it is now the flawless XP I expected.
