Large Scale Central

Visitorville

Reconstruction of Visitorville is about done. Guests can drive up to the gate and unload 3 feet later. There are 7 tracks, 4 have stub ends and can hold 20 feet of rolling stock each. Three tracks have an escape at the end so train length is down to about 12 feet. This is the East side of the house so the sun can be brutal for us Northerners so I’ve erected shade awnings for the hot months April thu October.

Views of the Wye

Standard deck construction with an overlay of foam and landscape fabric topped with the track and the gravel. Next up is to install the pneumatic switch machines under the deck

Wow, that’s nice
Too bad your not a Southerner
Ralph

Larry, do you allow visitors??? I’ll be back home the last full week of July, and would like to visit your layout, if possible…

Thanks guys. Visitors are always welcome. Just gotta call or email…so we can plan a time

Larry,

Great job, that is a terrific staging yard/area for guests as well as for the home road rolling stock.

Looking at your landscaping in the background, it sure has matured beautifully through the years.
Especially the Alberta Spruce’s, hmmm, or is that Spruce’i?

Thanks for sharing.
Rick

I don’t know Larry, his Peabody sounds different at the start. The Pea comes out like PI and ryhmes with what you hear at the start of Kiss, and the BI is like the sound of bit without the t and then Dee as in Sandra Dee. I think Southern Illinois is rubbing off on him. Ever once in awhile I even hear a “Yiall”, meaning everybody. He needs to go home for a refresher.
