Visiting Other Railroads

Some of you got to meet Karen and Denny Karner at the ECLSTS. We had a chance to visit with them yesterday evening. They have a beautiful home in St. Charles County, Mo. Their house is on top of a ridge with a backyard that drops 60 feet vertically through Ozark style woods. A railroad has been carved into the hillside and fill. It’s a year under construction with lots of trestles, hostas (1200), daffodils and walking paths. The basic track plan is a point to point, with reversing loops at each end, and a large continuous running meandering circle of track in the center.

Look for lots of good things to come from this railroad in the woods.

Sounds great!

I like the idea of including a meandering loop for continuous running.
