Large Scale Central

Visiting Charlotte, NC

I will be in Charlotte for training Monday 1/10 thru Friday 1/14. I will have some free time in the evening from 5:30 on if anyone in the immediate area would like to get together for a cup of coffee.

Bob,
Too bad you don’t have any day-time hours available. The North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer is less than an hour’s drive from Charlotte.

Yeah, unfortunately the whole trip is on the companies nickel, so side trips are pretty much out of the question unless they are almost directly in the path of travel.

Be careful, Bob.
They are calling for significant accumilation of snow in Charlotte Monday. Temps are supposed to be cold all week. So what snow does fall will stick around for some time.

Keep in mind gents, I am a ‘Damned Yankee’. Born and raised in the north ease corner of New Jersey. I may have left the snow, but I still remember how to drive in it, although the hotel I will be staying at has a shuttle service door to door to the classes I will be attending. Let them take the driving risk :).

According to the local tv station in Charlotte (WSOCTV) the bad stuff is not supposed to start until Monday morning and continue through Tuesday morning. I figure if I can get into town and checked in before it all starts I will be good to go. And their 5 day forecast is for 5 degrees for a low on Wednesday (will be bringing warm clothing. I also made sure my rental car is a 4 wheel drive.

Ha…
I’m a damned yankee too. They don’t have the equipment to handle a major snow event.
But it sounds like you’ve planned ahead.
