Large Scale Central

Visit to the CVRR

Hopefully the President and CEO of the Cumberland Valley will chime in with pictures. Sunday the LS ML & E was invited to the CV tracks for a day of operating fun. Yes all work was put aside for the enjoyment of friends( I hope I can use that ) and their hobby. Dave R.,his wife Angie aka"Mother" and their son had me to their railroad for the day and I brought the circus to town.
I want to thank them again for their hospitality and reiterate on the enjoyment had.Though the circus equipment did have a slight mishap when the elephant stuck his trunk from the side of his car just as the train was entering tunnel #2.,and the front office forgot to check clearances on some oversized equipment ,all mishaps were minor and allowed for the normal good natured ribbing.
Once all trains were running young son handled trucking movements in the downtown area, and I’m happy to report that “Mother” was able to contain her goat to the relief of all.I did hear her at one point admitting to not having all her chickens, but the new coop was on the way.
Dave thank you again for the good time and the info you were able to pass on.

Dave

A side note is that I also ran the pass equipment I’ve been working on.A problem was had with spacing on curves. These AristoCraft cars have been altered for spacing. All equipment except the 2 dome cars were fine, but the dome cars seem to have had a shorter shank or differant truck spacing.I will have to add 1/16" to the shanks to correct the spacing. Guess I’ll have to keep a closer check on my mods even though all cuts for shortening were done the same.

The CVRR is a family owned operation and enjoys sharing their trackage right’s. Marconi productions used those trackage rights while moving it’s circus train down the rails of the CVRR and passing through it’s towns this past Sunday. In turn making it an incredibilly busy day for the guys at Lemo on a supposed relaxing Sunday afternoon shift!

Then we had this mishap with the only elephant the circus owns!

There is a problem though as did anyone account for any animals lost in the derailment on the north end of the viaduct?

Last I heard we have a gorilla roaming around town and it was last seen under the viaduct heading toward’s Ritters True Value! Think about that! Good time Dave! Thanks for the fuses!!! Forgot about them till I brought my TE inside!!! p.s. …confirmed today o/d light on …definitely codes stored!

Now you two just need to pick up a third David to join your fun

David M,
Very impressive Circus train. How many Circus cars do you have? I think I see 15 in the picture.
But the picture doesn’t cover the whole train.
Ralph

Ralph, The 17 you see are about 1/2 of the train.

Dave Our animal handler will be notified of the situation and I’m sure that once he contacts the head office they’ll set a meeting date to further discuss the alledged missing gorilla, and how to go about recovering same. Should they reach a decision before the gorilla leaves town I’m sure a team will be sent to collect the animal.
In the mean time if you notify your town folk let them know that the best way to handle a meet with said gorilla is to feed him\her parsley, sage, rosemary,or thyme. Unfortunately for the town folk who do have a run in with said animal after feeding him\her the only way to get him\her to go away after feeding is to throw money and gorillas’ usually don’t settle for anything less than a fifty
Oh, and it’s a known fact that gorillas don’t like goats, other than that they’ll just hang in the trees until something better comes along.

Thank’s for the codes

Dave

Your circus train is wonderful David. I am sure it looks great when running and I bet kids (as well as the big kids ) really enjoy seeing it.
Maybe I should get a few circus cars: the circus, especially any with wild animals in it, is becoming a rarity in the UK.

Ow. That’s hard on the schnoz!

Where is Dumbo?

It is confirmed we have a gorilla on the loose! I came into my shop this morning only to find a customers Saab flipped on it’s roof. There where non human footprints all around the property as well.

Later that day the police received calls that there was a gorilla roaming around town, a shopper at Ritters True Value caught this shot on his cell phone this afternoon. The gorilla appears to be disturbed and on a rampage! Will keep you posted on any new events!

Ohhh, my aching tusks. Any Elephant dentists around?

The lack of gorilla sightings is a bit unnerving. Wonder where it is??

“king Kong” or what??? hah lol The Regal

Dave you might want to check the mile high apartment building as MaGilla likes to be able to see the sights.
