Got into Virginia City on Sunday the 22nd. Have never been able get there to ride the steam train ( DAMN ! ). Had been delayed by problems with my truck coming thru the mountains from the west. But did photograph the engine and crew as they had just finished the run. Pictures : http://www.largescalecentral.com/gallery/index.php?level=album&id=7&plog_page=67. Rode the diesel powered train the next day that does the short run to Gold Hill and back. Stormy weather while I was there. Dark sky to the east with lighting that first evening . . . storm during the night with thunder and hail, . . . another storm during the day Monday while I was in town. Always a great place to visit.
Thanks for the pictures.
It is nice to see #18 being well taken care of and I think it is terrific that they have
left the home road lettering on her.
I know what you mean about the Thunder Storms. We were in Truckee that weekend and Sunday night/Monday morning the
Thunder was “Walkin and Talkin” with rain and hail.
