Large Scale Central

Virginia City Flats

Thanks Rooster, John and Korm, all good points! I just noticed your posts, because I didn’t realized my “Send me notifications when other members reply to this topic” got somehow unchecked. But, thanks again!

Nice alterations of the light posts (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I needed to finish up a few items on the gray building, including:

  • Blackening the pin heads on the columns
  • Final balcony painting (had only a primer on)
  • Gray strip across the top
  • Gray acrylic window trim on top floor
  • Tar paper (non-slip tape) on the balcony
  • Screw in the light box

Here it is with the window-light box,

Final step will be outfitting the windows. I have initial patterns set up; but since this will involve different materials and and tools and tests and failures, I’d rather take on all the windows for these four flats at once, after they’re all painted and detailed. Here’s the patterns so far for this building. I’ve decided to pitch it as a wedding reception, fwiw.

Cheers,

But this is on B street, so that couldn’t be… So that’s why I say it was a wedding reception, in case someone asks. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

If it were on D street, now that’s a different story… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Looking very INTERESTING, is this thinking INSIDE the box? LOL

Gee, you’d think for a Western theme, you’d have a Shotgun Wedding, the lovely bride need only look a tad pregnant …

Notice the VERY confused looking Rooster (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif).

So this farmer’s rooster dies - plum wore out! The farmer tells the neighboring farmer about his loss. The neighbor says, “I’ve got a second rooster, and he is a real go getter with the hens. In fact, I think he’s too much. You can have him if you want him.”

The farmer decided to take his neighbor up on the offer. The farmer takes the rooster home, and it turns out his neighbor was right! The rooster will not stop pestering the hens, and egg production increases 100%. The farmer is worried that the new rooster will wear himself out. He keeps looking at the new rooster and saying, “You gotta’ slow down or you are going to kill yourself.”

One morning the farmer wakes up and realizes the rooster has not crowed. He looks out the bedroom window and sees the rooster on top of the hill on his back, legs stiff to the sky. Worse yet, the vultures are circling! The farmer throws on some clothes and rushes to the top of the hill. He looks at the rooster and says, “I told you to slow down or you would kill yourself!” The rooster cocks open one wee eye and says, “SHHhhh! They’re starting to land!”

Now Cliff, you’ll need an MP3 player set to continuous play for the opera house. And a video of it in use.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
