Vintage photos of the KMRR

So I finally got around to making my pictures into black and white photos. Here are a bunch of photos that I did in black and white.

Those look great Shawn!

Pretty neat, especially one of HLW “Big John” at logging camp.

In B&W, everything looks “clean” and “unweathered”.

They look good Shawn. What year was that.

Nice touch, Shawn.

Thanks guys. Hollywood based off the quality I would say early 1900's :)

As Rooster would say;

Very nicely done!!! I like the effect.

My favorite is the second to last, with the train coming out of the tunnel. Looks very real.

I like that one as well. Now you need to upload them so we see them on the home page sometime.

You have a FALK???

he screamed cursing under his breath at your luck

Shawn… They are just a bit too crisp, you need to add a bit of ‘film grain’ and fading to really look like old pix.

Other than that fabulous! Now it’s time for you to build a more permanent webpage… or site

Thanks Mik Thats my next step is too get the “real” old look. I want to try to get them printed and maybe burn the edges a little as well and then frame them. I have a blogger site but not crazy with the format. I want to get started on my own web page but not sure how to get one thats good and free.

Shawn, photobucket has some lazy edit tools for film grain. edge blur, etc. That’s all I did with this one… It isn’t a perfect ‘old photo’, but I got rid of most of the toy train look.

Here are a few ‘real’ old pix for you to try to copy the effects… As you can see the process changed as did picture quality. And professional photographers always had much better equipment than amateurs. 1861

I saw that. Makes me kinda wonder why he wants to learn to build stuff on the cheap (and free webhosting) if he can afford stuff like that sumbych.

As for “free” hosting, check your ISP contract… you may already be paying for it

OTOH GoDaddy is like $5/month

I’m not 100% for sure, but I think the Falk belonged to a visitor running on the KMRR.

Dam im slow now I know what Vic ment by Falk. I wish it was mine but not for the price it goes for. It was a club members gypsy (falk). But I do plan on building one. I just recently got a LGB stainz - missing a lot of pars but hey I dont pass anything up for free. It runs great.

…I’m still jealous

When I saw this in person I really wanted one until I saw the price. That changed my mind really fast. Very nice engine though.
