Vietnam Veterans Reunion in Kokomo, IN next week 9/11-19/2010

Hooahh!

Seeing some friends I haven’t seen in a year. Seeing some brothers-in-arms from 35 years ago. There will be Gun Trucks, Hueys, Ma Deuce,Medics, maybe a Kit Carson. Then there is getting Dinky-Dau, with some Door-Gunners, Boonie Rats, Brown Water Navy, SeeBees, Blackhorse, Tunnel Rats, Grunts, Mooreens and of course the Cavalry arrives just in time to save the day.

It’s Stand-down, R&R, and a trip into the Ville all wrapped into one without the Incoming, Flak, Tracers or Woolly-Pete.

Good chow, no Beans and Mothers, or C-Rats, bottles of Yuengling instead of steam from a Water Buffalo or worse yet, a hot Fresca.

Sleep with no H&I, Arc-Lights, RPGs, Puff on top, or Specter lurking.

Yes boys, it will be numba-huckan-wahn.

Have a good time Dave. I wish I could make it. Forty three years ago for me. One good thing is that a very close friend from that time will be attending for the first time so I will get a first hand report.

I guess I should make one of the gatherings but alas I will be Hawaii on vacation during this year’s meeting.

Nam 71-72 and that was enought for me as I retired in 1975 after 21 years of service. We were lucky to have only Miller High Life or Pabst Blue Ribbon beer in the Pleiku Highlands, NOT !!! YUCK !!

TOF in Lost Wages

It’s clear I dogged a bullet literally and figuratively. 8 years active…70-78… and I volunteered. but they wanted me in Germany. Would have done 30 but I’m still married, 35years and counting, so you know why not 30, twas the right choice.

And the pols still send the kids off to die and f@#$ it up too…ALL of them

I remember the tears the time I visited the Memorial in Washington. And I remember the fight over the design. I for one love the design it really brought home the cost for me.

Same here dodge the bullet but served my time in Germany 67/68 but proud of it and still consider being a part of the conflict. I had a lot of my buddies that i went through AIT with that ended up there and some did not come home. Still proud to say I did serve. Later RJD

Hey Daryl, PBR’s are what got me through my tour!

Jerry Another favorite was Fresca soda pop. Nearing the end it was down to $.24 a case. Not too bad with some Vodka.. Also another wonder, Squirt was good mixed with any wine like Mogan David. $.50 for quart of soda, $2.25 for the jug of wine, mix them together, cheap bang.

Gawd, I sure missed a good Guinness Stout !!!

Cheers, TOF in Lost Wages
