If you have a chance, you might check out the DVD, WALT DISNEY TREASURES: YOUR HOST WALT DISNEY. The disc consists of programs from the 50’s. One of them has a great deal of material from Walt Disney and Ward Kimbell’s layouts.

Disney explains his design process, track laying, etc. i found it quite interesting. He really seemed to enjoy the hobby and take it very seriously. Kirk Douglass attends and runs an engine. Camera is set attop a car as well as from the side of the track as the train travels along.

And of course…there is the Donald Duck cartoon based on the men’s love for the hobby.

bob

hehe

Does it include the famous clip of him riding a box car down the track like a sled?

Yes, it’s there,…a great big smile…just like a little kid.

Good Heavens! I remember that from the Walt Disney Show, back when Tricky Dicky was VP. (Am I really that old?)

I LIKE IKE…! Do you remember those campaign buttons? I do. :frowning: The elections of '52 are the first ones that I have a clear memory of. I was an IKE fan all the way…though I was a tad too young to vote…
