One thing is certain, riding in the loco must have been a pretty rough experience! But this would make a pretty interesting large scale layout, plus savings on the track may also be prototypically considerable… I remember there was an article about these locos in NG&SL Gazette some 10-12 years ago. Pole road locos are cool. I’ve read of a couple of folks who’ve built model railroads of this type.

would think turning that loco would be really easy, no need for switches, get get out and move the logs the direction you want to go
Be a neat working model…some dowels and small clothesline pullys
