In the ongoing saga of this year’s house exterior rehab, this weekend’s been pressure washing and deck repair. BUT, I got half the day today for important things. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)
Here’s the finished display, with the painted rails all spiked in with Rooster’s spikes. The mirror has its protective film on it still, but you can see the truck’s underside. The mirror angle could have been better, but people at the convention can stoop over a bit if they actually care to see the underside.

There’s gobs of 3d printed parts on this thing, and I did the prep (getting the sprue nubs off, a little filing here and there) and “staining” of these ones that are mounted on the car perimeter.

The the fun stuff: mounting some parts. I was a little concerned that the 2-hole transverse rod straps would go on, with all the tolerances involved. But they all did, so I was quite glad. Other than those and the L-shaped corner plates, and the screwed-in cleats, all the other parts had pins that inserted into pre-drilled holes. I used CA for everything here.

I really need to improve on my CA application… But I’m glad to have gotten these steps out of the way. Next will probably be the brake system.
