Cale I can feel your pain.
I had a first. I won the item was glade paid for it right away like in less then a minute. Two days later I get a notice that my money had been refunded to me. the reason…The person desided that it was to far to ship the item. WTF is this. To far to ship. The item is in PA and yes I am in CA right now but last time I checked it was all the lower 48. So yes Cale I feel your pain. Sorry.

I’ve been “Verified” for years. Didn’t know it was required now.
I still need to make my way over and return the Train Li.
Ralph

I dunno about verified.
I was certified many years ago.

Me too! :)

Oh no!!! A me too post from David.

Cale,
I have had three thousand eBay transactions, with around six hundred of those as a seller with a verified PayPal account and yet after many years and many thousand transactions, I still do not have an eBay ‘confirmed’ address. This can cause problems as to comply with PayPal protection policies in the United States, the buyer must have a confirmed postal address. Many sellers overlook this requirement, but I have seen many ‘bargains’ vanish because a seller will not ship to my ‘unconfirmed’ postal address.

To get a ‘confirmed’ address, I must link my eBay/PayPal account to a bank account. Many countries (outside of the U.S.) use credit cards to establish PayPal accounts and so eBay will not confirm an address based on a credit card. American accounts are based on confirmed bank accounts and thus addresses of account holders are confirmed. The fact that PayPal payments from my buyers is paid into my bank account and that I am a verified PayPal business account holder holds no merit. Simply a case of a dog chasing its tail to get any sense from either company!

Just a side note, I see that the owner of another forum ‘discourages actively’ any postings related to eBay. The reason - eBay is a major financial contributor to the site and the owner fears financial retribution from its sponsor. Shades of a manufacturer who withdrew sponsorship of the site because of criticism of its product line.

I am certifiable, but never spent the money to get the actual certification. Does it look good on your wall?

The owner of said site said he liked “PreyPal” as that is how he is paid for membership, quick and easy for him, it’s now “Evil Bay” in my books I have been taken advantage of both as a “seller” recently, and a “buyer” approximately 14 months ago! I only will use it when and if something is on there I just CAN’T do without. And yes I went through the “verified” crap a whilst back, some sellers will not sell to you unless you are or ship to a “verified address” Get this one, with UPS they insist there is no address for me, that I’ve had since 1981 they say only a 2nd ave not 1st. I usually get this when something ships from the EAST you know those right coasters are funny!! I just went through that with Dish Network, they sent me an additional remote, and they sent me two one to 2nd ave and one to 1st so I sent the 2nd ave one back. lucky them I’m honest. No wonder prices are so high if they send out 2 of everything eh??? Hah LOL and free on top of it. Thanks god for Wally Weirds return policy just went through 3 tvs to get one that fills the bill. One had a defective speaker, one was useless as it didn’t have enough component or composite jacks, and finally ended up with the first one I wanted but local store was out ended up at the warehouse and had shipped to the store for pickup. 90 days to decide you can trade up or down, very fair.

Also you guys should check out www.ebates.com/ you get anywhere from 2% to 7%+ back on any purchases you make online. No hassles, they will send you a check every three months or put in yer PreyPall acct. for you. I just received $9 back on the tv and free shipping if I would have used it another $14.95 not a whole lot but anything you can get back this day and age is worth something. check it out. Regal

Don't tell your mother you have a case of the clap.......she will respond "stick it in the garage as your father will drink anything"

V.D. is nothing to clap about.

I haven’t done any buying/selling for years on E-bay.
My account is still active.

get this…wife decides I Need to sell the stuff…she has me open new account under her name (against my will!)…easy as PIE, nothing like they were wanting from me yesterday…I’m like WT…how come someone with a blue star rating and 10years under belt gets hassled, but a newbie comes in and it’s like they put out the red carpet?

Just the way it is Cale. My wife had a discussion with our fuel oil supplier over price. We have been on a service contract, pre-paying for most of the year and they charge us $.50/gal more than the new customer who comes in off the street. Loyalty no longer pays. Just go for the best introductory price then keep switching. Same with Cable TV and Phone.

Because with your OLD account they had to wait until you authorized payment for their fees, with the new one they can reach in and take them whatever day THEY wish.... simple?

Besides, the old seller is more likely to notice their fee structure changed - a small decrease in listing fees plus a HUGE increase in final value fees.

Tell your wife as long as she’s happy with the bastards taking a bit over 10% in fees, you having to eat the amount their shipping calculator is off, and the cost of postal insurance as well, that you’ll sell them there.

Lack of customer loyalty is a direct result of lack of business loyalty.
