I have just received the January issue of NG Down Under , and it contains a very good article on making etch kits .
I have only one mild observation to make , and that is about the separation of parts from the etch .
I have found it best to get a pair of side cutters ground down so that the tips are flat and about 1mm thick .
This is then easily inserted into the slot to cut the retaining branches .
The cutters are kept specifically for this purpose , and do not seem to wear very much in use .
