USAT Mighty Moe gears.

I have a mighty moe that has been riding the shelf for too long so took it down to check it out and OH YEAH it has a bum axle. I pulled the motor cover off and one axle has a a beaten up plastic gear which I think is not meshing with the worm gear. I checked on the USAT website under parts and service but they do not list the mighty moe? Is there another engine they make like an S4 or NW2 that usses this same gear or axle since they do have parts listed for those.

Thanks.

I don’t know for certain but my guess would be the Mighty Moe uses the same motor block as the NW2.
My reason for saying this is that the Mighty Moe was produced early on when really the only locomotive that was being built by USAT was the NW2.
I could be totally wrong, but my money would be on it is a NW2 motor block.

Why not call Mike in the Parts Department of USAT and ask?
