For those who have or will get a USA Trains Extended Vision or Bay Window caboose, it includes a provision to install a nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery within the caboose. This battery is only used for prolonged operation of the flashing rear LED light. Because the caboose would have to be taken apart to install the battery (or replace it) there is now an available CamPac 3-D printed “Tool Box” where the battery can be externally housed. So if the caboose has to be taken apart, this is the opportunity to do this. The illustration below shows the involved process.
