I’ve spoken with Tiny’s dad a few times over the last two days.
Here’s the latest.
They are planning to hold a simple ceremony in Tiny’s backyard . It’s not hoyle to spread human ashes just anywhere, but the word is that someone may trip while carrying the urn around Tiny’s backyard and they could end up on his layout.
The mortuary will not be able to cremate Tiny’s remains until Wed or Thursday of next week (Labor Day Holiday), delaying the backyard ceremony.
If I don’t have a conflict I’m planning to make the trip for the ceremony.
I would be pleased to represent the mass of the LSC LSers who considered Tiny to be their friend.
Tactfully, I will broach the subject about the website, rolling stock and trackage with Tiny’s dad. Some of you have asked about this as a way to keep Tiny’s memory rolling along.
I’ve asked Bob to give me a download of Chatroom of the night 30th as a memorium to Tiny to be read by me during the backyard ceremony.
Ther has been a groundswell of comments on other LS Chatrooms too. I can get access to MLS forums but I don’t have any access to Big Trains or LYSOL. Hopefulle some of you can forawrd those pages to me.
I’m open for any other suggestions.
Possible a good memorial will be a donation from us to the V&T renovation project in Tiny’s memory. Let me know what you think of that.
Tiny’s dad seems to be doing OK. Tiny was not only his son, but they were friends. It also appears that Tiny’s brother is steeping up to the plate to fill the void that was left with his passing.
