Updat on Phil...from Phil

Hi guys,
I’ve been reading the posts below, thank you all for your wishes and for the personal e-mails I received.
The details:
Had single vessel bypass surgery on Friday Feb 7th, using mammary artery graft, therefore no leg donor site wound.
Post-op complications due to previous lung damage (haven’t had a cigarette in over 12 years and the damn things STILL screw you up.)
Finally got lungs working last Tuesday, then dramatic improvement, so much so that they discharged me home for rehab yesterday. I’m on 3 months go-slow, with a no-lifting order (max lift 8 lbs) for the first 6 weeks, so I’ll need to train Kathy in how to carry a loco out to the Ridge and put all the wheels on the rails.
Not allowed to drive for 6 weeks, may never be allowed to return to work but at the earliest that will be 3 months.
Looks like I’m going to be spending a lot of time here putting in my 2 cents. Maybe this is the opportunity to get up to 1000 posts with “me too!” responses!
I have been deeply moved by the flood of personal e-mails that were waiting for me. Thank you to everyone who has sent wishes and prayers. Hopefully this is the last time my health gets to be a pain.
