There are several videos on 4014 preperation on the UP’s steam page. Here is one:
Everything they have found so far in terms of condition has been very encouraging.
Thanks for posting Jerry.

Thanks for the link Jerry. I saved it so I can keep coming back to see whats up.
I hope to be able to go see them move her when the time comes.
Very interesting!
Can anyone tell me what the “button heads” are?
These Alemite fittings are used for high volume, high pressure grease points. On the 315, we use a high pressure air Alemite Grease Gun, with button fittings on the main rod bearings, and the side rod bearings. It uses a stick of very thick grease that is fed thru a vertical port on the top of the “GUN”. The D&S and the C&T engine house crews use this lubricant on all there locos. I would be surprised if the Big Boys did not have these fittings on most of the grease points.
The videos show the button head fittings, thus Ray’s question.
Thanks!
OK guys, I found this pic on Railpics of the infamous Alemite gun and the big button fittings on the rods. 1 Picture is indeed worth 1000 words. But I’ll will add, Big, Heavy and messy.
Now that’s a grease gun! Thanks.
