Unfinished projects

They all look nice but I really like the reefer…Most unique!

John,

For a lot of years I used one of those dual window fans with the side expanders you close the window on. I built a small ‘booth’ out of some old indoor paneling from a remodeling project, and placed a lazy susan in the middle to turn the car.

My tuppence worth.

John they look great. Cant wait to see them painted up. They will look nice.

New cars look great John. Looks like you will be busy painting once the weather allows.

I built a paint booth from a large cardboard TV box reinforced with wood. I added a bathroom vent fan (non explosive type) and dryer vent hose to vent it outside. Placed a furnace filter over the fan inlet inside the booth. It works well but you can still smell paint all through the house if using anything other than acrylics. I guess I need a bigger fan

John
those are really awesome looking cars, I love your style and your designs

As usual your stuff is great. That refer is really nice. I need to get one of them built sometime along with with all the 13 kits I have.

Thank’s guys.
I think I built 2 or 3 of Phil’s kits per the instructions and started kit bashing them from there on.
I made some drawings from the kits as to the bottom frames, roof braces and such and started to branch out.
I made the drill jigs for the hardware out of styrene. (End holes and side grab bar holes.)
I made some parts myself out of brass strips and rods. The boom on the derrick is styrene, as well as the pulleys.
Phil has helped me out immensely with extra parts, windows, etc. I owe him a big public thank you for going out of his way for that.
I ordered the basswood from one supplier and the scribed siding from Phil.
These projects have kept me from going nuts this winter, and enjoying my retirement.

Sweet! Really nice looking lineup of cars you got there!

A swell looking fleet of cars John. I really like that bunk car especially. Great work for sure!
