edited cause ya’ done blew out your kneeling pad Cliff!

To All:

Consider the ErgoKneel kneeling pads, I’ve got 3. I’ve had bad knees since high school, a condition called Osgood-Schlatter disease, that I’m still waiting to outgrow. These are the best kneelers that I have ever found, highly recommended.

Your knees will thank you! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-kiss.gif)

Great, an info-mercial! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

When it becomes available on You Tube we know we can count on you to embed it for us full sized !

If that is what you want. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

But wait! If you order right now, we will also include, for an extra shipping and handling charge, a free…

Sorry. I grew up watching too many Ron Popeil commercials.

Jeepers, this was only a recommendation and unsolicited testimonial from one that uses a kneeler. I have absolutely no commercial or financial interest in this or any other product that I have recommended in the past or may in the future. I see this as not being any different, for example, as a recommendation to use one particular RC or DCC manufacturer’s system over another.

I apparently thought that offering my experience with this particular product would be of interest or benefit to others. I guess that was a mistake on my part. I’m guessing that my aged skin is just too thin to to take what I perceive as a bit more than “good natured” ribbing even with the winking emoticon.

Mark, yes we were just kidding. And recommending a product that would be useful to others is not a bad thing. Even though I am old enough to be an adult, I am not one. I just play one in real life. So consider the (childish) source (me) and move one. I mean no harm, but sometimes I do get carried away with my jokes. Right John?

Mark,

It’s a tough crowd, but full of good hearts. Big boys play hard… stick with it and you’ll earn your spot.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

I was going to counter your pads post with a sit down chair. That’s what elevating my road let’s me do, stay off them old knees completely when fastening track together.

You can still kneel?

I originally let my reply pass because I have this thing about uncluttered threads … but I will make a suggestion that such posts be done as stand alone threads where others can compare kneelers without derailing a build thread.

John

edit; to answer Maynard

Hi guys,

Mark, I looked up the Ergokneel pad, and since my knees aren’t great, yeah, I might bite on that, so thanks for bringing it up. I have a pile of discarded cushions though, and that seems ok for most things. Also, per my doc’s advice, taking fish oil pills over several years has helped big time.

Then there’s the pants issue. With all the kneeling on gravel that I do, I go through jean-knees pretty quickly. Fortunately, our local (and huge) Catholic church has a massive flea market each year, so I stock up there for jeans at around $2 a pair.

I finished the track today, doing the entry ramp leg (on the concrete roadbed) in the earlier AM before the sun rose above the shade trees. Been hot here! The rest of the track, being under the deck, went pretty quickly.

Next step is track wiring, which should go pretty quickly tomorrow.

Nice work, looking great… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Cliff, I haven’t commented specifically on this thread and your work, but it goes without saying, wonderful and thanks. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I have started a new topic - Kneeling, Praying to the Railroad Gods - to more properly separate my suggestion from this topic.

Thanks very much Andy and Mark, glad you like it!

Today was finishing the wiring and putting in switch machines.

Here’s a video from the train’s eye view, leaving and returning to the barn. My first attempt at putting a GoPro aboard a car, and it went easier than I expected.

Thanks for watching,

Pretty damned cool!

Thanks Joe!

I do believe you reached your goal Cliff. Nice job (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Very nice looking and practical storage solution. It looks as good from the inside as it does from the outside. Great job! And thanks for the video.

Bob
