The caboose in the picture reminded me of the article and the article said it was getting ready to open.
The “Greeley Freight Museum” layout is a truly something to see first hand. The scope of this project is unbelievable. The first time I saw it my jaw was on the floor. The second and third time … not so good. Just another model railroad with all of the typical problems of derailments, etc. Really ruins it. But hopefully, they will get all the bugs worked out by opening day. (Yes, this is featured in MR this month. Neither this video nor the MR article do it justice). There is some great modeling going on here though. Well worth the trip, from where ever you may be.
The staging yard alone will blow your mind! The first time I was there (about 18 months ago) they had some 10,000 trees in the “tree room” ready for planting. They have some models of shipping freighters (as in ships) that will also amaze you.
