The Tennessee Valley RR just started a You Tube channel.

Hmmm. Must have embedding disabled. I’ll have to post it as a link.

Nicely done, Ralph. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting… The first car behind the Steam engine is an RDC… Wonder if it was powered…

Good catch Andy. I hadn’t noticed.
I doubt it’s powered. Quite a few videos on Youtube of the same engine pulling longer trains.
But you never know. Could be some steep grades that require help on this run.

I saw that, also. An RDC had barely enough power to pull itself, except for the one with the jet pack on it. It had a different roof design.

Hey Ralph,
What part of Tennessee is this located in? I have a friend that moved to NE Tennessee in September of last year and we’re going to visit sometime this summer.

Chuck

Chuck,
It’s in Chattanooga.
They’ve partnered with Norfolk Southern and are going to be running steam excursions.

So, Ralph, is that the famous "Chattanooga Choo-choo? :stuck_out_tongue:

No Steve, but it is not far from it. As a matter of fact (information only) the MNRA used to be right in front of the TVRM. My youngest grandson got his first real railroad ride there when he was 2.

The second clip from the user included the train coming out the other end of the tunnel… with the smoke pouring out of the RDC. Perhaps its a combination coach/power car for the other two cars in the train?

Kinda looks like the RDC was pushing the steamer through the tunnel to avoid asphyxiating the paying customers.
