I got one of those. Took this a year or two ago. Used it for wallpaper on the computer for awhile. Ralph

A friend of mine is due to go again to Spartanburg next week to work for three weeks. He is looking forward to it as much as open-heart surgery with a spoon.
Having been there last year, he opined that the best thing he ever saw was a sign that read -
‘GRUBNATRAPS OT EMOCLEW’ in his rear-view mirror.
Some places are good to go to, some are better to leave.
Anyone got any GOOD things to say about Spartanburg?
Please?

Ralph Berg said:Hi there, Ralph - nothing personal, as I said, it's him that does not care for the place, is all. My east coast experiences are confined to Washington DC where I used to go and oversee a course in the Navy Yard.
Sorry your friend didn't like Spartanburg. I don't know why, as it is very much like most other cities around the same size. I've never had any problems there. I also know a lot of good people there. What does your friend like to do? Maybe we can point him in the right direction. If nothing else, he should have some nice weather while he is there. Ralph
He’s actually a failrly dour - no, make that VERY dour Scottish person, and looks at the world as though he fell off the back of a honey wagon into a ditchfull of sh*t. Not his fault, If I had come from Glasgow I’d prolly feel the same. He looks pretty glum most of the time, in fact, in all the years I’ve known him, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him smile, but that, as I noted, is part of his rich Scottish heritage. In a country where the most popular colour charts in the DIY stores depict half a million shades of grey, it’s hardly surprising.
As for interests, well, he’s a shooter like me, but he is an Olympic-scale grumbler and mumbler, too. I told him that the three weeks would pass quickly if he just buckled down t othe job and did not think outside it, and anyhow, the weather will mean nothing at all to him - like many Scots, he much prefers a good gloom.

I wasn’t offended Terry.
I just found it odd he so disliked the place.
It is not a place I would pick to vacation, but a lot nice places to live are not good vacation spots.
I don’t live there, but do get over that way from time to time.

Name one good thing about Spartanburg…?
MY FAMILY and I!
I’ve been here for 35 years, no plans to leave! I own a Spa here in town, and we offer some great services, if your friend wants to unwind, have him call me and one of our therapist can help work the kinks out!

I’m seeing him on sunday morning on the range, and I’ll be sure to pass on your welcome message!! His name is David Hamilton, and you’ll recognise him because he’s real miserable looking - nice guy, but just miserable-lookin…
Thanks again!
