Trolley car ( open sided coach ) to be hauled by your steam loco

Hi Guys:

Has anyone modeled a trolley car ( open sided coach ) , similar to the coaches used at Disney World , to be hauled by your steam loco ?

Here is one prototype example:

Built Bought Renumbered to Disposition Builder
1902 1903 2 Scrapped 1937 Jackson & Sharp

Notes: Combine #7 was certainly the most unusual car on any of the narrow gauge railroads in Maine. It was built as a trolley car, but the trolley company that ordered it canceled the order. It was then sold to the WW&F, and entered service as the widest car to ever operate on any 2 foot gauge road, at 7 feet 5 inches wide. In 1906, after the death of a rider changing seats mid-trip, it was rebuilt into a combination RPO and passenger car. The car was the last operating RPO on any of the Maine two-foot gauge railroads, on the day of the last derailment in June 15, 1933.

Guys, please post any other open sided coach prototype examples which you know of.
There was also Ward Kimballs “Grizzly Flats” open sided coach as another example.

Thank you,
Norman

I didn’t model them but they were purchased to run behind the Ft Wilderness loco.

A project like this is on my to do one day list, Norman, but right now it's slipped pretty far down.

I have a Chloe, and she needs a train of these, that’s for sure. Ken’s setup is pretty nice looking, looks a dead-ringer for the museum peice I believe it’s modelled on. I think I’d want open cars for my little Chloe, though.

I hope someone else posts more info, maybe some links or pix, on this thread…

New Bright/Scientific made/make large scale open coaches for their Disney train sets that are sold at the parks. They are lowly in detail and closer to 1/24 scale but they do work as open coaches. I have also seen old Bmann open trolleys, sans motor block, used as open coaches.
