Still kicking around what to do for a spout…
Travis, when I did mine I used a piece of 1/2" cvpc pipe secured the top to a counter and attached a large pair of vice grips to the bottom then heated it with a heat gun and as I heated it began to stretch and taper, when it got about to the size I wanted I sprayed it with a water bottle to stop the reaction. then just cut it to length and section the end with left over pieces. later added evergreen strips and chain, worked great and I saved $10 from not buying one from evilbay, Bill
for spouts i got from the garage next door some used spouts from half quart motoroil (or additives) bottles.
they are tapered a bit more than waterspouts, but i think they will do.
I’ve rolled them from brass shim stock.
If you can make a tapered dowel it helps prevent dents. Tin both edges and sweat them together. Running a pounce wheel on the outer edge can simulate rivets.
edit to correct; tapered

Excellent information, thanks John
Water tower project came to a abrupt halt tonite… Band saw tire on the pulley flew apart the keeps the blade tracking true… So I will finish what I can and go from there. Need it to build the roof and cap…
Awe man that sucks
Oh man, that’s too bad. I was lucky my tires went bad before breaking.
I like these folks and really like their resawing blades.

found a pair of tires for band saw last nite on Amazon. Also gonna replace the bearings while it is apart… Parts wont be here til next Thursday (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif). Oh well, always fun watching you guys build along…
Well, Travis, I hate that. But I am still expecting and looking forward to seeing the tank finished (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Well I am temporarily back in the water tower business. I decided to go ahead and build the top with the stuff I had already cut before the band saw took a dump on me. Got the parts ordered but wont be here in time to get it repaired before this ends. So I will finish as much a possible and finish it after the challenge ends… I will post pics a little bit later tonite.
Shoot Travis, that blows… good luck with getting the parts.
So here is what I have done from last nite…
Will post more later…mow off to work for the day…
Nice start on the top, Travis.
Good choice on what you’re drinking to stay hydrated…
NO not the Titebond III glue…
More photos of the roof soon to have shingles…
This project is not gonna be done by the deadline After starting a week late and working weekends. Just thought I would build along with you guys for fun. Always enjoy the stuff we all come up with…So when I can get time to cut the bottom to fill in the void where the roof over hangs then I can install the fascia. Then comes the shingles…Thanks for checking in…
Nicely done, Travis.
looks good travis
Band saw parts came today… Woo Hoo… So now I am trying to get as much done as possible. Started the shingle roof. Should have it done tonite. Then onto more details… Pics coming later…
Don’t worry about pics until you need a break, we can wait a bit, if necessary!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
