Traveling The Rails Home From York

As some of you know, we did not take the most direct route home from York. Traveling the rails our first destination was Ken Brunt’s place. As you approach the station, you see the massive yard for servicing. I hope they have regular with lead to keep this old buggy rolling.

Delores is the first station stop. Food and fuel for both us and the buggy was available.

As we leave the area, we pass the Mancos Station which looks a little abandoned in this off season.

Our next stop was Roger Cutter’s RGS East. We knew we were in the right area of Maryland as we approached Rico.

The high trestle made the chickens a little queazy.

A close up shows some are getting restless.

We even had to take a siding as a through freight passed.

That must be Andy’s stuff strapped on the roof. When did you pick up the chickens? I didn’t hear anyone complaining about clucking at the hotel

Crikey , that’s a nice setup .
Funny how the out of scale mulch looks OK . Must remember that .

Jon,

The “chickens” are kind of a poor man’s hot air balloon or even sometimes used like carrier pigeons. We strap a disposable digital camera to their legs and take aerial shots. I’ll get those developed just as soon as we can get rid of all the chicken crap. It used to be easy, we’d hose it off. Now we have to file a hazardous material report and bag up the dung in environmentally friendly disposal bags. It’ll be a couple of more days before it is filed and reported.

Ric
given the way everything fit so nicly in the truck you must have had the ladys load it.

A woman can get more stuff in a shoe box then I can get in a full size pickup.

FANTASTIC!!!
I love the old buggy and especially the stuff strapped to the roof. But the chickens ice the cake!!!
Excellent!!!

That old buggy get’s good gas mileage. All the way from Delores to Rico without a fuel stop…

Like I keep telling Ric, all that buggy is missing is an old lady in a rockin chair on the roof…
