Hello everyone. I’m new to G Scale and only have the LGB transformers that came with a few starter sets. I also have a few older HO models that appear to require a little more power than the LGB kit transformers will deliver. Can someone make a recommendation for a single or multiple output transformer. I was looking at the MRC Trainpower 6200 but it kind of concerns we how it reads “Power Boost for G scale Trains”. That may not be a problem but it almost leads me to believe that they are great for the smaller scales but will also work with G scale. I also see the Power G 10 amp. Those are my initial choice for a single transformer but have not found anything that jumps out at me for a multiple train transformer. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

If you really serious go with the Bridgewerks line.

I have three Power G 10 amp transformers and love them. Have only had 1 problem with one of them and they fixed it under warrienty. For the price I don’t think you can beat it. I do agree with Dennis in that if you have the money Bridgewerks would be a good way to go. I think they even make one that will run 4 tracks. but they are pricey.
I have a Crest (Aristocraft) 10 amp. You can buy additional 10 amp controllers to run multiple trains.

Hi guys, I just ordered one of the MRC 10s. I think for now it will be good for my application. I did check out the Bridgeworks stuff but only running one track right now, the MRC will do for now. Thanks again for everyone’s sugestions.
I had a 6200 but it burned up. Now have a Crest 10 amp with the TE system, works great.
