I’d like to point out that Trainworld is having a Cyber Monday “free shipping for orders over $100” deal. Caveat: They are an advertiser here, and I took advantage of the Black Friday/weekend 10% off deal yesterday.

Maybe you could ask mom for an early Christmas present
Doubt it. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)She freaked when a 10 foot long box showed up. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)I bought some 8 foot Aristo Stainless track at auction. My order shipped yesterday and arrived today. Speedy service!
Bob, that’s spooky. Around this time of year FedEx looses my house. Oh yea, they find it again in January.
And no Rooster, my house does not have wheels under it.
As a followup. They did call me on Tuesday that they didnt have enough of one car in stock, and would I like to sub in the rest of the order with something else. We agreed on the sub. I unpacked last night, and what arrived was two less cars, and not exactly what would have been the complete order. Still, it was a good deal, IMHO. YMMV, of course.

So, how did you explain it Dave?
Off topic, but just in case I ever get into the same boat, I’ll jot down a couple practice responses:
-
“That’s fine if you don’t wrap it, Sweetie, it’s ok.”
-
“I ordered it in feet, but they changed it to meters for some reason. You know how it is with those metric people…”
-
“If I die tomorrow, at least you’ll have this and what remains of the 401k.”
-
“The brass is a much better investment than silver. And you can play with it! Oops, they sent stainless though…”
-
“At least I didn’t order the curved sections.”
-
“Just wait till you see the stocking it’ll be stuffed in!”

Cliff I told her the truth. I purchased some 8 foot sections of track. She didn’t ask why. If she had, I would have told her that it was for repairing deer damage to the track.

So you didn’t pull a Lee Harvey Oswald and tell her they were curtain rods?
No. She has already commandeered too much of my stuff for her “projects”. I can just see those rails getting sawed to length and supporting curtains in my living-room. And, of course if she were to saw them, she would destroy another saw. I have an Xacto saw around here somewhere with no teeth on it. It seams she tried to cut some galvanized sheet metal with it, and failed.

You are still expecting the two missing cars after enlightening them of their error ?
Or is it just written off as, still “a Good deal” from TW ?

Thanks for the order Bob. Sorry I didn’t have the quantities you were looking for. You wiped us out! I should be expecting a restock from Bachmann in the next two weeks. If you still need large quantities on those cars send me an email and I can special order it for you. [email protected] Attention Ken Jr.
