Thats not good news, I’m surprised, if Trainworld can’t move enough USA stock, what does that bode for other distributers?

You missed it, Vic.
He’s Bernie Madoff today.
We should start a pool on who Cale uses for an avatar tomorrow

Good question Vic. Personally I think most of the larger LS manufacturers and distributors are experiencing a far more serious decline in business than they probably want us to know about. I don't know how they are going to survive another one or two years of this economy.

I like that idea!

I’d join in the fun, but I don’t want to break my confuser with pitchurs of Dingy Harry.

Train World never really sold ANY of USAs Rolling stock, They carried a few of there engines but mostly had them drop shipped from USA Trains when a customer ordered one.

I kind of thought that too since they never had any USA stuff at the shows. The might have taken some close-out stuff from Ro for their blow-out sales, but their pricung on current items was high by TrainWorld standards.

Apparently, I say just that, TRAINWORLD not carrying USA does not mean USA is in any financial trouble attributed to the lack of TRAINWORLD sales.
Who are the big sellers of USA?

Wendell

Ridge Road, Gary Lantz(Wholesale Trains), St Aubin’s, and, of course, Charlie Ro. Even Eastside Trains in Kirkland, WA, sells them, though they are more of a brick and mortar, or I should say, board and batten, store than an internet outlet.

Hmmm, if thats so and they held very little stock in store, I'm wondering why would they drop them. even if sales were low its not like they had any warehouse stock inventory to sell off, its just a phone call or computer click away, how much overhead does that intail? Low sales should only be a burden if you have an overstock that hasnt moved in a while, but computer orders direct from the factory should be simple and shouldnt cost much if anything to maintain. Curious.

Victor,
Good point.
Perhaps the listing of USA for sale (first post) reveals slow selling items. Again, attaining any ordered items would appear easy to do per USA’s proximity, so why not carry them?
Wendell

Isn’t this fun?

Here’s my guess. I think that Charlie got tired of Trainworld only selling a small amount of his stuff, so he told Trainworld to take his name off the masthead. That’s as good as any other theology! :stuck_out_tongue:

Bingo!!! Give that man a cigar.

Similiar to a furniture store just wanting to sell their product, they come up with a enticing header for a ‘flyer’ and roll-it out I’m sure you all perused the posted ad ! And one or two bought something !

A few yrs. back a certain furniture store and continual “closing out” sales . . like every 6 months just to move product out the doors . . . . . until their regular customers realized what was going on, and I believe a gov’t (consumer watchdog) agency or two finally woke up at their desks . . . end of repeat “close-out” “final closeout” sales.
