First day of TrainOps went very well, despite the initial heat. Bruce brought my GAL passenger car kit that he put together for me. Its a beauty. The rest of the usual Friday crowd showed up as the day went on, as people left Al’s and wandered down here. Hollywood showed up with his BL2 and passenger cars and ran around the RR. A few other trains made their way around as the afternoon cooled. Ric’s buggy seemed to be the track tester this year, the rest of the trains seemed to have no real issues, but the buggy managed to point out a couple issues that were addressed.

Now on to tomorrow.

Friday of TrainOps2019 -

.

Al’s railroad is great and a true challenge to operate. You’ve got to be on your toes to not miss an instruction on your train orders. It’ll cost you later. Hollywood and I learned that a couple of times. Track work, scenery, equipment, and couplers work great! Its easy to understand exactly what and how he is modeling the Rio Grande Southern.

.

Bob’s railroad Ops is tomorrow, but we did some running today. Rolling stock has been placed for the gala event and everything seemed ready. The gardens are in beautiful shape and there have been changes to the property, flower and vegetable beds and even the indoor plumbing, since last year. Great railroad to operate on. I think it will be put to another real test, tomorrow. Should be a great event.

Thanks for the pictures. It’s disappointing missing this - but the opportunity to spend the weekend with my Denver grand children won out. Speaking of pictures, with a minor edit this Dave Marconi shot a contest winner:

Day two of TrainOps is in the bag. Many trains were run, a bunch of problems with the Bachmann box car trucks and bolsters failing, and a couplet failure on a combine. But 17 trains were run and lots of fun was had. Tomorrow on to Stan’s

Fred,Friar,Padre Mills is awaiting pictures along with the rest for those that could not ,couldn’t , can’t attend!
