TrainOps 2016

After much discussion at the York show, I’ve settled on a weekend for TrainOps 2016. Pencil in August 5-7 on your calendar. More details as they become available.

TrainOps 2016 is fast approaching. I’ve heard from some of you, but I’d like to get a head count. Here’s a rough outline.

Friday afternoon is show up at Bob’s and run-what-you-brung, starting any time after noon. NOTE: NVRY has no provision for track power, and we have dogs (friendly) and cats. Over the last couple of years, Al Pomeroy has hosted Friday morning runs at his layout in NH. Dinner has been order-out pizza.

Saturday setup starts at 9:00, with operations starting at 10:00. We run two trains in each direction, with meets decided using rock-paper-scissors, or any other suitable method. Lunch and Dinner provided for a modest donation.

Sunday we traditionally head on over to Stan Ames’ amazing layout for operations.

Send me a message letting me know if you are coming, and when.

Thanks

-Bob

Guess I better get a hotel room…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Unfortunately, Jane and I won’t make it this year… Do hope all goes well…

Jean and I will be there! Really looking forward to it!

Well, since my kids and grandkids will be visiting that weekend, I will not be able to attend, again, this year. Sorry.

Doug Matheson and I will be there.

I already booked our room.

We are stopping to see Don Sweet in Concord, NH.

So we may not be there for the Friday pizza party.

Paul

Bob

Do the layouts mentioned accommodate 1/20.3 engines and rolling stock? Specifically the Bmann Connie which is 6" on the cross-head and 8" to the top of the stack.

What is the minimum track radius?

Are green engines allowed?

What kind of pizza?

Will my New Mexico passport be honored by Massachusetts?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Yep, we’re 1:20 here, for the most part. No clue as to min radius, I’d guess 6-8 feet radius, if I had to guestimate. Ks work ok except when switching Oakhill with its #4 switches.

The rest, well, I guess we’d put up with a green engine, and New Mexico passports are allowed as long as they’re accompanied by a half-bushel of green chiles as a bribe.

ROTFLMAO

ROTFLMAO…Hmmmmmm ?

Ha Ha

I might do that if you were willing to bump the event back a few weeks. Chile harvest doesn’t ramp up until the middle of August.

Bob are you sure you want green chile? I don’t think it is legal to transport East of Oklahoma and even that far you have to get a hazardous material permit. Maybe you should stick to sweet pickle relish or a really good bell pepper.

Hmm on the Aristo site it says today you are just turning 65 … When did you become Grumpy?

Become? I have only met Andy a few times at the ECLSTSs, but I can honestly say, I have never seen the man smile.

Marilyn and I will be there. Camping nearby Thursday night through Monday morning. Bringing Maggie again this year - she might be interested in running the ops this year - at least one session

Sean, ““Grumpy”” was my CB handle when I had CB’s in the vehicles, and it’s also the name on Cell phone…

I’d change your name on my cell, but I’d never know which grumpy person was calling…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)
