Large Scale Central

TrainOps 2015

Sent an email to Al this evening (Thursday), that I will be there about 10.

Don’t forget to take lots of pics. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I’ll probably get there a little after lunch…

OK the radar shows some rain up there however it does not appear like enough to deter the operations! The 1:1 railroads operate in the rain and besides Al said most of his switching is indoors anyway. We fully expect pictures on this thread this evening or me and a few others are gonna mess this place up!

Any Rooster sightings?

That’s it… there is no excuse for no pictures!

I’m gonna mess this place up!

Talk to Bruce, he took pictures. I think? Hmmm, he wasn’t at Al’s. Did do some test runs on the new switching puzzle. Challenging. Good pizza, but the sausage and mushrooms weren’t on the same pizza, so you had to eat two slice at one time. That worked. Dribblie rain all day in spurts. It was a challenge, but we survived.

Sorry Ric …were are thinking the whole thing was just a fantasy as there are no pics to prove it!

fun time

I would like to thank Bob and Martha for hosting another TrainOps.

Bob and Martha have done wonders on their railroad and it looked fantastic.

Great fun was had by all.

Two photos from Saturday follow.

Stan

I would like to thank Al, Martha & Bob, and Debbie & Stan, for a great weekend of trains and friendship…

Jane, My Mom, and My nieces kid’s had a great time, along with myself… A very enjoyable weekend…

Weekend was ““wicked awesum””… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Very hard to do it, but I have to agree with AndyC. What a great weekend! TrainOps2015 is in the can, but it just makes us look forward to the next one. Look close in Stan’s second picture and you can see Bruce scratching his head trying to figure out Oakhill. What a great puzzle!

In response to Rooster’s radar observation - we had dribble, drizzle and out and out rain, all three days. However, we also had sunshine. Temps were comfortable to tolerable to humid and warm. To best describe it, Jan and Jean had their coats off for a few minutes each day, but had layers on most of the time. AndyC was totally soaked once on Saturday, and that wasn’t from rain, so for the majority of us it was pretty pleasant for an August weekend. However, Sunday morning walked around the back of Debby and Stan’s house and found AndyC’s Mom sitting on the deck, in the rain, with a poncho on and rain gear on her lap. Her look was purely, “Can you believe I do this, just to be with my son”. Dot is one of a kind. She is a real trooper as she is with us at these events and at Andy and Jane’s house during some of the Ops sessions there. Always enjoy her company.

Another great TrainOps. I want to thank everyone that came, and apologize for the few track issues that inevitably arose. All in all a good weekend, and the weather held out for us.

OK so where are all the pictures and video’s? You know the saying, “NO pictures NO happened”.

Pics, or it didn’t happen. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Far as I know the people that took pictures are still on their way home.

On the interstate highway??

In the passing lane with their left turn signal on and all the outside mirrors knocked off?

No Rooster, that’s old people that do that. Old people don’t play with toy trains. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)
