Large Scale Central

Train Shows

Ever thought that there should only be TWO major LS train shows each year ?

One should be in Superior Wizz.; and the other in Blunder Bay Ontario

This would put both shows in almost the geographic centre of North Hamerica, and would make it a truely International event.

The cost might be less, and there are real railroads in both centres.

Getting there might even be fun !!!
You could even take a Great Lakes cuise in order to get to both from Eastern cities.

Enjoy the thought, but don't rush for hotel bookings......!!!!

No complaints from me on that Fred. I’m within 6 hrs of Superior, WI. Was stationed in northern MN not to terrible far from Superior. Lots of rail and shipping action there in the twin ports.

Andre’

I like York much better…only an hour away…

I’m just glad that at the very least, we have the BTS here, only a 1/2 hr drive away from me now.

And I’d miss it. Too far to go, thanks anyway.

That’s like me, Bob. Everything is too far…1000 to 1500 mile minimum with York being around 2500 miles :frowning: Therefore I do one a year…the best…Marty’s Thingy…

I’ve heard about train shows. I’ve even known of some happening during our “Gatherings”. I’ve attended a few and, of course, enjoy every one I attend. Usually don’t travel over twice the distance of the continental United States to go to one. The one in Nepean (suburb of Ontario) is well attended, lots of fun, but the vendors are poor.

Who needs vendors when you are busy playing with friends…

Warren, I certainly don't. But some of the members of our local club won't go, if they can't be buying stuff.

That’s sad. Materialism over friendship…:frowning:

Did they move that place? Fr.Fred are you still in Ontario??? Or are you on a French immersion adventure? hehehehe

Still here, last I looked. Nepean; suburb of Ottawa, and both in Ontario.
I’ll look again in the morning, in case this bloody snow is forcing us in a sliding movement towards the Ottawa River and La Bell Provence.

I see where the gang in “Packy burg” shot that woman…great way to end the year…isn’t it.

Yeah, and all the Washingtonian politico jackasses will be trying to capitalize on it. :frowning:

Yeah, just marvellous. :frowning: :frowning: And they go on and on and on and on about it on the News broadcasts. Had to have the radio off most of the day. GRRRRRR

Oh yeah, the river in between; you could be in for a bit of extra immersion.

But back to that train show, what time of year did you say this was to happen? January? Good! No black flies, no skitters.
You’re right, the Lakehead would be a good spot, I just don’t know about the harbour tours. May be we could do them on skates!?! THAT would be different!

“Blunder Bay”, Ontario, in the Spring is lovely…Superior Wizz., in the Fall is also lovely.

Centre of the North Americans’ universe…!!!
