Hello Again
How about large scale hobby shops or train related stops worth making in and around the area from Syracuse to Niagra falls ?

Despatch Junction in East Rochester. Not a ton of large scale but a respectable amount, tons of other model railroad stuff-books,magazines, modeling supplies, HO, O N, S scales. Lots of new and used stuff. There’s a lot of stuff squirreled away here so plan to spend a bit of time. Stan the owner is a collector himself so he’s always picking up used stuff. Its in the old NYC freight house next to where the Despatch car shops were. You can sit and watch the CSX & Amtrak trains pass by on the mainline right outside. http://stores.djunction.com/StoreFront.bok This is my local rr hobby shop.

In Buffalo there’s Niagara Hobby- http://www.niagarahobby.com/ and KVal Hobbies - http://www.kval-hobbies.com/. Both have been around for many many years.

I know there are some shops in Syracuse but I’m not that familiar with them so maybe someone else can chime in here.

Thanks Dave
We were able to stop at Despatch , a ton of trains there of all scales, and Niagra hobbies. Niagra seems to be more of a total hobby store with crafts, doll houses, slot cars, rockets etc… They didn’t have too much in the G department. While at Despatch 2 CSX freights went by and an Amtrak later on. The caboose in the parking lot at Niagra is pretty neat. I didn’t buy anything but they were both worth checking out.

Hi Todd,
I think you should have asked that question before you went to the area
