Train seems to slow down in one insulated section?

I am running under track power on my indoor layout. I have a number of insulated sections through the layout. Unless I am smoking crack, it appears that in one insulated section it appears that the trains slow down when running through? This seems really odd as it is the longest straight section in the whole layout. I don’t actually notice that the train is slowing down but the sound from all the cars on the track indicate that it is and picks up again once it exits the insulated section.

I am curious as to what could be causing this and how to confirm if this is actually happening.

Thanks

My guess is that either you have a connection that isn’t quite right, or you need larger wire going to that section. Some people place a meter between their power supply and the track (or have a power supply with one built in) which would fluctuate when the trains went across a poorly connected section.
