Large Scale Central

Train Ops 2012 Pix

Our host Friday and Saturday Bob McCown. Having seen only pictures of small portions of Bob’s railroad, I was surprised how large it was. Thank you Bob and Martha for your hospitality! Doug, Gaetan, and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Although I do not model narrow gauge, the size of the 1:20th scale motive power and rolling stock was impressive.

Doug Matheson anxiously awaiting for the railroad operations to start.

From left to right: Bob’s son, Bruce Chandler camera in hand, Al Pomeroy, Jon Radder, Doug Matheson, and Gaetan Charette all searching out the cars for their trains.

Doug Matheson and Ken Brunt at Majestic with their Bachmann K-27s.

Handsome beasts these Ks.

Al Pomeroy with a unique head end car.

Gaetan Charette and Ken Brunt doing a little switching work.

Gaetan Charette admiring a Bachmann C-19 with the Bumble Bee paint scheme in the engine service area of Deck on Stanley Ames Railway. Thank you Stan and Debbie! Doug, Gaetan, and I had a great time.

Another Bachmann C-19 on the turntable. I believe this is the locomotive I ran after lunch. Although it took me a while to get used to the DCC throttle, the C-19 performed flawlessly.

Very nice Paul. How far did you drive to make it?

Great pics, Paul. Thanks. Glad you guys could make it down.

That first one of me is my “Ok, the cars are out, and I have train orders in my hands, would you guys stop jabbering, there’s work to do!” pose, I think.

Hi Larry!

We went to Bob’s from Ottawa, through Montreal to pick up Gaetan. It’s about (700 K) 435 miles. It took us 10 hours on the way down with an off-highway lunch stop and construction delay. It was 9 hours home because of an hour wait at the border. We left Stan’s about 2 and I got home at 11. Well worth the drive though.

Paul

Shawn?? Ken goes through life in a totally cornfused state... for him, it's a purely natural look... :)

Thanks for the pics.

Was that Gaetan taking pictures, too?

Again great pictures! Bob, I know the feeling of “everythings ready, now what’s going to break?” I’d say you guys were successful.

Real nice to see you guys are “Narrow Minded”.
