I think that the scrapyards look sad .
The aircraft dumps , ship breakers , loco smashers , all of them removing the life from what in many cases are --were-- beautiful objects; it always make me wonder , why can they not find a better use ?
It can be very creepy walking round aircraft dumps , the gentlest of breezes moves the control surfaces and you fully expect to see a pilot in the cockpit . Perhaps that’s where old pilots go .
But there is a certain attraction to the loco photos .
